Artist Statement
I am a textile, fashion, and photo based artist. I like to use an open-ended experimental approach with materials, testing the boundaries of both photography and textiles, and ignoring the norms of fashion.
I like camping and laughing. I have been a cheerleader, a treeplanter, a traveller, a coach, a student of fashion/ science/ history/ design/ textiles/ & photography, a vendor, a forest fire fighter, a general manager, a pesticide mixer, and a bridesmaid (6 times).
I like to use humour and a playful approach to address the environmental and social issues that plague my mind; I try to offer either an alternative point of view or an escape in my work by looking for what is comical in a situation, or by finding what could possibly go right.
